Biography

Haylee is well known for her recurring role as a featured dancer for the past 5 seasons on the FOX hit TV show, GLEE, choreorgraphed by Zach Woodlee.  She was also featured in the GLEE Live! 3-D CONCERT MOVIE, and GLEE LIVE TOUR 2010 and 2011.

 

Haylee thrives in working the commercial world and has been spotlighted in TV shows such as Bones, Bunheads, The Mindy Project, Switched at Birth, The Secret Life of The American Teeanger and America’s Got Talent.

 

Haylee danced with Neil Patrick Harris in the opening number of the 82nd Academy Awards and Ellen Degeneres in the 86th Academy Awards Promo.  Other credits include a featured role in Gloria Estefan’s music video, “Hotel Nacional”, Lucas Grabeel “1,3,5 and 8” Music Video and the February 2011 cover of Dancespirit Magazine.

 

Haylee has been fortunate to work closely with choreographers such as Marguerite Derricks, Keith Young, Kelly Devine, Tessandra Chavez, Vincnt Patterson, Adam Shankman, Chris Scott, Kitty McNamee and Brooke Lipton.

Haylee’s class specializes in helping dancers find depth, color and nuance in their work.  She focuses on helping young dancers bring emotion to their art, and encourages them to tell their story through beautiful, fluid, long movement while maintaining strong technique.  Haylee believes there is nothing more beautiful than strong lines, a dancers ability to use their legs and their spacial awareness of the stage. Coming from a competitively strong technical background, Haylee studied under Liz Imperio, Jerry Evans, Jackie Slieght, Bonnie, Story, Mark Meismer and Brooke Lipton.  Haylee has studied an worked in all genres from ballet, jazz, conemporary, lyrical, hip hop, tap and partnering.  She continues to use and train in each area, and encouranges her students that no one style is more important than the other, but emphazises the foundation of all styles is found in the core principles of ballet.  Haylee’s personal dance style is inspired by old Hollywood, large movement that travels and is compelling to watch with a blend of contemporary flare and artistry. She brings in so much energy and pasion to the class room, and her enthusiasim is contagious.  The main focus of Haylee’s class will be to inspire dancers to use their talent to truly express themselves as individual artisits. Haylee currently teaches at numerous studios in the greater Los Angeles area. She has taught many master classes, toured with conventions, and set choreography in LA and around the country.
